Description
Elements & Principles of Design
While many of us can create something that looks good in Photoshop or InDesign, do we actually understand the design theory behind what we create? Theory is the missing link for many un-trained but otherwise talented designers. Exploring graphic design and the design process in general, this exciting course examines various design elements including shape, line, space, texture, value, size, and color, along with design principles—covering balance, continuity, hierarchy, contrast, scale, repetition, rhythm and proximity. Understanding these fundamentals will enable students to better describe and pitch their work and recogonize good and bad design. (No specific software is taught)
