Description
This survey course includes the structure, function, ecology, nutrition, physiology, and genetics of microorganisms in industrial, agricultural, food and medical microbiology. It also includes an introduction to standard techniques and procedures used in the microbiology laboratory.

This is a hybrid course. Hybrid courses combine the flexibility of online learning with in-class meetings. In-class time is reduced for hybrid courses because some of the course is taught online. Online expectations may include online discussions, small group work, self-testing exercises, and audio or video lectures. To be successful in a Hybrid course, students should: 1.
